To infer diversity in the Long plant library and for pooled G. intraradices libraries, we calculated diversity using non-parametric estimators Chao 1 and ACE from 50 resampled replicates of 710 individuals, as described in Section 3.3.3. Robert Colwell's EstimateS software package (version 6.0b1, available at viceroy.eeb.uconn.edu/estimates) performed computations.
