About

My research aims to understand the evolution of human social and cultural behaviour, working at the interface of anthropology and biology.

I studied Biological Sciences at the University of Padova (Laurea, 2003) and Anthropology at University College London (MRes, 2004; PhD, 2009).

Between 2010 and 2013 I held an Omidyar Fellowship at theĀ Santa Fe Institute, where I am currently an External Professor.

Since September 2013 I have been based at the University of Oxford, as Associate Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology and Tutorial Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford.
